Goldmine Road
Thoroughfare Plan Amendment (Monroe)

The City of Monroe plans to extend the runway of Monroe Regional Airport from its current 5,500 foot length to a total of 7,000 feet.  This project will require the relocation of Goldmine Road, a major thoroughfare on MUMPO’s Thoroughfare Plan.  The relocation will be limited to the section of Goldmine Road located from just west of Airport Road to just east of Price Shortcut Road.

At its January 3, 2008 meeting, MUMPO’s Technical Coordinating Committee (TCC) unanimously recommended that the MPO amend the Thoroughfare Plan to show the re-aligned roadway. The MPO approved the Thoroughfare Plan Amendment at its January 16, 2008.
