Regional Transporation Planning

The Mecklenburg-Union Metropolitan Planning Organization (MUMPO) is part of the greater “Metrolina” region, which consists of four Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and two Rural Planning Organizations (RPOs). As such, collaboration with other regional transportation planning entities is important. Currently, several initiatives are underway to enhance the way transportation planning is accomplished in the region – initiatives such as the Regional Transportation Planning Study (more info below) and MUMPO’s Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP). MUMPO is also a member of the Charlotte Regional Alliance for Transportation (CRAFT), which consists of the aforementioned MPOs and RPOs, and meets several times a year to discuss regional transportation planning issues.

This webpage is intended to serve as a resource for regional transportation planning in the Metrolina area. This webpage provides links to additional information, as well as links to the websites of other regional transportation planning organizations.
